Looks like Poolhall Prophets will be out the 27th of Dec. It has a name change "Shooting Gallery". It looks a lot darker than any other pool movie (other than chalk). Anyway here is the trailer...

Enjoy,

Thanks for the trailer. Don't see much actual Pool in the movie, but I'll probably go watch it anyway. Heck, I paid my own actual money to go see PoolHall Junkies when it came out too.

Hmmm... looks more like an action movie than pool. Hopefully they'll put some thought into the pool scenes so it's somewhat realistic. Though with that jump shot in the trailer I'm a bit skepical! We can always hope... *crosses fingers*

hey its gotter be better than poolhall junkies lol.......ill take one for the team and go see it when it hits the theater

It isn't going to be in theaters it's going straight to video. Production companies make more money going straight to DVD than they do going to theaters for potentially low grossing movies. A truck load of money goes into getting the theaters to pick it up and to advertise it. Go straight to video and you are guaranteed to at least break even on a low budget flick.

Hey now!!?! What's wrong with PHJ???

man i thought that was one of the worst movies i ever saw period, forget that it was an awful pool movie. Especially when i was expecting something like color of money

Bought my copy and also Stickmen. Anything is better than Kiss Shot and Up Against the 8 Ball

Poolhall Junkies is a movie for ballbangers. Rick Schroder's character is using a graphite cue, and everyone else is slamming balls with everything just lining up. What about the scene where he "spots" the guy a few balls playing eight-ball. There's not a pool player around that doesn't know this hustle. And why the hell are they playing eight-ball?? If there's gambling going on, you're going to be playing nine-ball, one pocket, or even banks.

The only pool movie I'm looking forward to seeing is the one based on the life of former road player turned pro Danny Basavich aka Kid Delicious.

lol, ya'll take pool movies too seriously. It's exactly that, a movie... Do ya really think Neo is "The One", because I don't... I thought PHJ was entertaining. I was not analyzing it as a pool movie, and what shots they made or how they made them. It was somewhat of a comedy/drama if ya ask me, not a pool instruction video. If you want that, hit up the Bob Byrnes videos or something.. :)

I 90% agree with that. there was some shaky acting in places but it's an independant film, there was also great acting from some of the big name actors.

Yeah, me and John always crack about certain parts of the movie. Like when his little bro asked what the rock was, and he replied telling him it was the cue ball.. That was just kinda a lame line.. But hey, the Lion story told by Walken near the end of the movie helps balance that out... :D

well i understand its just a movie and not an instructional video......but theres scenes where they shoot balls out of sequence in 9 ball......that whole "id pay 5000 to have that shot" and they do it in the middle of the game. I dont know I just thought it was a really awful movie, totally cheesy. I mean its not like its a movie that just had a little pool in it......its pool hall junkies.....youd think pool would be somewhat central to the idea of the movie....it just sucked lol

That whole bit at the end was equally ridiculous. Like it was some great hustle... I hate seeing ballbangers, to this day, practising those stupid shots.

Yeah, all the shots were lined up shots. They would have a straight in shot, bang it in, then next camera angle so you don't know exactly where the CB ended up for real, but the next shot was once again dead in...

I took more focus on the non-pool parts of the movie. Like, the restaurant scene. "Didn't ya know, 70% of all women with fake t.ts who are involved in boating accidents, do not drown."

Yeah, definitely a cheesy movie.. But I like cheese.. :)

Figures too, Johnny "V" (Velveta) would like it too.. ha ha....

Coming soon

There never will be a pool movie made the way "pool players" want to see it. It would take to long. And in the color of money there were things done wrong to, with stop shot tom cruise. and the hustler would have been better without fast eddies shot love affair. so dont look for anything special in jennifer barreta`s new movie "9 ball" except her.
