Who do you like commentating when watching a match?

I notice in the Masters that some were just trying to put way too much drama in it seemed, almost every single shot. It got to the point, I actually turned down the sound on a couple of matches as I just couldn't take the trumped up drama any longer.

My personal favorite is Hendry. He doesn't talk that much, and when he does, he usually gives some really good insight. He is not interested in creating drama, but sticks with what is actually occurring, and what the player is probably going to do, or try to do. I like him very much. Sometimes less is actually more.

I dislike most snooker commentators. It is extremely annoying on how they overreact and try to create some fake drama as you said. I watch a lot of snooker via euro-sport player, and there is a stream with NO commentary at all. It is so relaxing to watch a snooker match with no nonsense being blasted.

The BBC commentators are also annoying, especially Whilly Thorne, his same old quotes used a million times. Stephen Hendry is decent and Ken Doherty also, they know when to keep quite.

All streams can have no commentary - become familiar with the multiple volume controls on your computer. :D
Also comes in handy when watching youtude in Russian.

Things ar much more reliable now, but when I started watching live snooker on the web, I might have two sources running. one for the video quality and one for audio.

For the big three, many in the audience have the BBC audio feed courtesy of their ear piece. They react to commentators comments and the players wonder what was said. if you don't listen to the commentary, you will be wondering too.

I like Dennis Taylor - rarely diagrams the wrong shot - and Clive Everton, the snooker encyclopedia from editing Snooker Scene magazine for many years.

Would happily get along without John WHERE'S THE CUE BALL GOING??? !!! Virgo
