In my quest to learn more about pool and pool table mechanic, I have to say I didn't think that there were so many subtle things that people would say affect the game on any specific table!
Let me recap so far what I got and then ask about what I did quite get
So far, it is my understanding that there are 3 main brand of pool table:
- Diamond
- Gold Crown (GC) with various version (GC1, GC2, etc)
- New Brunswick
There must be a hell of a lot more, but I think these 3 are the main ones.
It is my understanding that many different table come with various pocket opening, which I find to be a little weird as why not all table come with the same pocket!
I understand there are many type of cushion (K55, K66 and another one I can't remember the name).
So my question is this:
Are all pro pool table have the same cushion or does that vary depending on the brand of the table?
Are all pro table have the same pocket opening/angle?
What would you say differ from these 3 main brand? I mean if you were to compare 3 new tables, set up by the same mechanic, what would still be different?
And the same question, but the opposite, what would be the same on all 3 tables?
Is the height the same on all pro table? Is the height of the edge of the cushion the same on all pro table? etc. etc.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!
