Let's start with American players.

I'll take 10 pre 1990.

In no particular order.

1) Buddy Hall
2) Earl Strickland
3) Jim Rempe
4) Willie Mosconi
5) Mike sigel
6) Keith Mcready
7) Steve Mizerak
8) Allen Hopkins
9) Louie Roberts
10)Nick Varner

For the people in the players of today have evolved beyond camp list 10 post 1990 and let's compare.

The progression in pool is not like in other sports.

The only thing that really changes is the equipment and the game of choice and players will adapt to whatever that is. Today it's 10 ball, a rotation game with the only thing being different then the previous game of choice is an extra ball.

That's a good list. Nice to be able to have Dennis and Johnny on it as they have been around for a while :)

Still I think the pre 1990 list is stronger. Certainly I don't see any evidence to show that pool in America has progressed to a different level. When I get some time today I will try a world list from pre 1990.

Edit, I'm switching Roberts for Lassiter on my American list.

Also I think dennis H should go on your world list.

If you're gonna have Mosconi on the American list you should have Greenleaf on there too. And what about Harold Worst and Johnny Archer?
