Is there a program specifically for designing cues or do you just use a paint program or something alone that line? im trying to design a cue to be custom made but want it to be my design and want to know what it will look like.

if it is going to be made by a real cuemaker (by hand), then you can use whatever you are comfortable with...

I used Adobe Illustrator to design my cue. I exported the result to EPS format and the guys at Showcase were able to use that file in their CAD software. You probably want to stay away from 'paint' type programs since they draw pixels for the most part. Illustrator draws with vectors which will scale properly and translate well to the CAD machines.
