I just inquired about what is supposed to be a custom cue and was told it would cost in the very high dollor range. The cue is awsome. Now here is the problem,is it custom or production? There are approxamitly 30 of these cues out there.I thought one was custom 2 or more was production. This is from a reputable C.M.
Any comments?

Hi Bob,

There's always been a thin line between production and custom.
I build several cues that look alike, but they are built one or two at a time. [I have a dual-headed CNC mill]. These are still custom cues. I do not have a production line.

You can have a custom cue, and the Maker can build several more just like it and your cue will be considered a custom.

When I build one of a kind cues, these will never be copyed, and are also custom.

It's how you look at it.

Most cuemakers believe and think, it's "custom" that will sell there work.

Not the way it is, in real life. Workmanship sells and tells all of a cuemaker.

That about says it allI guess.
Quality will always win out.
Its just when a C.M. makes 30 of the exact same cue, even though it will have the quality I would call that a production cue.
Its all semantics.
