Super strong performance obviously under immense pressure and with emotions running rampant u pulled out a miraculous victory over one of the worlds top players Shaw.
I first realized David's game this year at the open during his match with Bergman. It was a great match going tit for tat obviously Bergman wanted the win on Americas biggest stage but Alcaide pulled out the hill hill thriller after some of the best safety/strategy play I've ever seen in 9 ball. After seeing that I decided this guys great and I've kept a close eye on him since the open and he got like 3/4 in that and has had other good events since but obviously this was his best yet.
The best part of watching the final match was seeing the last 3-4 games since it looked to be another shaw victory and even when it was hill hill shaw had an open rack, which he's probably the best runour player in the world if not the best ball pocketer, but also he had two opportunities on the 6 and missed twice hooking David both times.(shaw said he blew it but realistically neither shot was even close to easy) so for those that missed it Alcaide jumps the ball in and then makes two more difficult power shots and after a stunned 8 ball up table hitting the thickkkk side of the pocket but going in he fired the 9 in for the win.
Better than the actual match was the victory celebration. David dropped to his knees, basically got a hug or high five from every one In the crowd, and even shed some tears. It's truly great to see a guy like this break through after what I imagine was years of practice and hard work and dedication. The win obviously meant so much to the guy that I felt like good for him and know almost nothing about him besides what assumptions I can draw from his emotions after the match.
Again congrats it was a great match and now the door is open and u can go on a "shaw" type run winning multiple tournaments.!!!!
