With all the big name players at TS this year, I found myself sitting rail side for at least part of every match Ernesto played. He was a joy to watch, quietly and efficiently burning through a field of young guns on the loser's side until he ran into that buzzsaw Shaw.
I usually don't say anything to pros after a match, but after his defeat of Hunter Lombardo on my last day there I took the time to tell him how much I enjoyed his game. He gave me a simple thank you and extended his hand to me. I was stunned to find that a man who played with such power and control had the coolest, softest handshake I've ever felt from a man, in spite of working 12 hour days installing tables every day for decades.
