The picture of Jayson Shaw with his son holding up the 9-Ball after Jayson's win in the Turning Stone Classic is as heart-warming as they come. I bet that kids is dominating grown men in five years! I'd be scared to play him but would not turn down the challenge.

I talked to Nick Varner several years ago at a Jr Nationals, he was in the stands so I went up to chat a bit. Asked him about his kids and none of his kids learned or wanted to play pool in a meaningful way, so not all kids of pro players get into the game :)

I do see that many, many of the good young players have parents or at least relatives that owned/ran pool halls. Jayson does also own a pool hall, so his kids are twice as likely to play when they get older.
