He posted this FB this morning. He is a good guy and very good for our sport

Well it happened Saturday July 19 2014 about 5:30 PM
at the BCAPL/USAPL Nationals in Las Vegas.
I officially became a CSI Referee - Lots of studying - Three Great Days in Class - 2 hour written test and many hours of supervised refereeing on the floor of the Nationals. The CSI Team and Bad Boys Team are the Best to work with. Great to be part of the future team and getting to continue to learn from such Great Referees and Friends!

Good stuff for him. Sounds like they do a great job of teaching.

I'll tell you what happened to me.
One of the main reasons that my wife and I went to Vegas, VNEA, was to take the Ref course.

Had to wait for the instructor for quite some time. He had a late night and was seriously Hung Over, that was quite apparent.

The course was hurried, maybe 4 hours if that. Not much of a test nor much time practicing on the table. My floor time was limited to sitting on the other side of the ropes
talking and watching my Ref Mentor work from a distance.

Funny thing was, or at the time, not so funny. Just about every class has one no matter what you are taking.
Well, we had a girl in the class that kept interrupting the teacher. Every topic that the Teacher brought up, she had to tell a story of a situation she was in reffing and what she knew and how she did it. Got to the point that when she would interrupt, everyone would give her the evil eye. Finally, I said, "ya know, we didn't come here to listen to what you know, we came to listen to what the teacher knows". We weren't friends after that.

I probably got more out of Dr. Dave's and Bob's instructional Ref Video than what I paid for in Vegas.

Sounds like the CSI guys had it down just a tad more.
