Does anyone know if Tony still gives lessons and if so out of what room?

Yes, he does. I know he has a lot of students during each week. I will pm you his email address.

Taking a lesson from a good instructor is the best way to improve.

I read the article on the front page. Congrats to Tony Robles. He's definitely one of the good guys and one of New York's finest! :)

BTW, I noticed that Mike Miller came in second place. There are a lot of players who have a reputation for playing fast, i.e., Lou Butera and Luc Salvas. I thought it was funny when a few years ago, the Ripley's TV show had Johnny Archer and Jeremy Jones as being the FASTEST players in a one-on-one contest. As some may or may not know, though these players are GREAT, they definitely are NOT the fastest guns in the land. :D

Mike Miller is, without a doubt, the FASTEST pool player I have ever seen. He is phenomenal, and he can play a mean stick as well. He's a working man, with a family, but is a weekend warrior on the regional tours. Thanks to great tours like Blaze and Joss in his area, he's able to enjoy his passion for pool and keep up with his job and family responsibilities. He's a nice guy, too! Bravo to him for coming in second place. :)

Congrats to Tony, but this is of course nothing out of the ordinary for him. Anyone that knows his game knows how strong he is. It usually takes much more than regional competition to take Tony out of the winner's circle. Sometimes, international competition doesn't even do it ;).

Is the Mike Miller who came in 2nd place, the same Mike Miller who builds Mike Morgan cues? He plays out of Leisure TIme, or at least he did several years ago. Nice guy, that would be great if it's him.

Thanks,
Steve

Really the fastest?

I'm not sure if it's the same Mike Miller, but I usually see him in the Pennsylvania area on the regional tour circuit.

Here's a picture of Mike Miller, the fastest gun in the States, maybe in the world.

Mike Janis will love this snapshot! :D
