Hi....and please forgive my ignorance. I am new to the billiards game and I have a potentially stupid question to ask...

can someone in this forum tell me if it would be hard to put a wrap on an old willie hoppe sneaky pete? I saw one on ebay and I love the points, but I would prefer a wrap.

Also, would it be stupid to jack up an old cue like that?

Of course you should play with the cue for a little while to make sure you like the hit - but if you decide to keep it, adding a wrap will not be a problem. You just need to decide who you would like to do the work and get a quote from them. Shipping cues only costs about $15 each way using USPS Priority Mail (Don't know what UPS or FedEx charges). If you will tell us your location, you may find someone local to do it.
Prices depend on what kind of wrap you want - Irish Linen, Leather, Exotic Leather.
Enjoy your new cue!

I am in northeast Pa. Proficient billiards is about an hour and a half away. It would be a linnen wrap.

I just wanted to make sure that taking the cue down to put a wrap on it would not affect the play quality of the cue. I am not worried too much about the value. I just think old cues are cool. And I read an article on the internet that talked about how these old cues are solid which is why the balabushkas are so coveted as a great playing cue. I figure if george used the hoppe blanks, then getting is hoppe cue that is straight would be the closest I would ever come to hitting a balabushka.

I keep hearing how these old cues hit so well because of the quality of wood. there is one on ebay that is pretty sweet and I thought if i could get it for the right price, it would be a fun cue to have.
