Dave Kikel called me last week and said "I have 6 forearms and Butt Sleeves on their way to you. I want you to use some of that computer mojo on them and come with some designs. Dave is not a computer guy for those of you who do not know.

Tonight I took my first stab at it. This is a Ebony forearm with 8 Desert Ironwood points. Still need to work on proportion in the butt sleeve, but I think this way of going about designing a cue is a great idea.

Great way to go about designing a cue. But your forearm looks a little too Szam-ish. Sorta like one of many McDaniels out there. And the rings appear to be straight off a Zinzola.

But I definitely like the inlay pattern in the butt section.

Nice twist on a traditional design... funny how those little bass/quotation looking inlays make it unique.

I'd look at changing the rings. There are only so many things you can do in those points so unless you come up with something highly unique, I like what you've done.....

here is a few i have done using MS paint, the top and middle are on order already,,,,

what program are you using?

progress pictures,,, murrell got my design dead on! this way the cuemaker gets to see what you want on the smallest scale and detail.

i'm not a big fan of re-cut points, however the bottom pic has me sold on them, perhaps its the veneer on both sides of it, it is a re-cut isnt it? im not thinking to good tonight, this flu bug thing is horrible, thanks to Jay helfert

yep its all recuts ,,, murrell used curly maple instead of holly.

i tryed your idea with some black and white veneers and different rings, what do you think?

Looks really nice, but since the forearm is already built it would be pretty hard to to get those veneers in there. :wink: Also, I 'm not a fan of full metal rings.

The design I did was for illustration and is not the final design of the cue. The rings will be different and most likely the design will change before the cue is built. It's just neat to have the wood in your hand before you put a design in a cue.

Hey are you going to get the 3 cue made by kenny ? if not can i ask him to make it for me . And you pm me the deals that are in that cue ?
That is nuts...
