Cool Home Billiard Rooms

I've never seen so many examples of tables that, if buying a house, I would insist the seller take with them.

The rooms seem so sterile and uncomfortable, imho. Nice lookin' for sure, but not what I'd want in my room.

I like it where the people can comfortably watch the pool being played, but maybe that's just me.

Yeah exactly. Not many tables here that an actual pool player would be caught dead playing on. I love the room with the 6 foot flip top table.

Thanks for the info I wondered what the heck that table was. I like this room the best so far, probably because it looks just like my living room.

These tables are a perfect example of what my mother used to call "More money than taste" or my dad used to say "more money than brains."

These people have more money than they know what to do with. If you can get a Gold Crown that matches your decor and you're filthy rich I say go for it.

With a couple of exceptions, the pictures in this thread are not "pool rooms" they are rooms with a pool table, what happens when one tells the interior decorator you want a pool table included in the design, or a non-pool playing spouse's concession to one's request to have a table to home.

I would think designers would be all over Gold Crowns because they are the perfect "retro, mid-century modern" look that is in style today. It's odd that we don't see more of them in designer rooms. Of course, they'd have some hidious color cloth.

Designers only know, and have connections for, new. They don't know about things like Gold Crown tables or where to buy a I or a II, not to mention getting one restored or setup properly.

I'm sure most of these tables get used about once a month for about an hour or so... They are there so the owners can say "let's go to my billiard room and have a drink".

And yes, even so, I'm still jealous. :)

As a person who has an interest in architectural design and billiards I am not ashamed to say I'm very jealous of many of these tables and rooms.
