i followed a few related video links on the PAT drills video thread and came across this video of russian pyramid. it's actual television coverage and although it's in russian (or some other slavic language) it's visually informative - it shows the difference between pool and snooker balls and tables compared to pyramid as well.

it's a strange ass game to get your head around lol, but it looks pretty damn cool!

Some european pool stores offer pyramid equipment such as ball and cues. I used to play in a pool hall where all house cues were big heavy pyramid cues. They were big and heavy indeed with around 22 ounce at least and with strong conical taper. Silly pool hall owner bought those cues because he thought they would last long and because the salesman talked him into it...he had no idea what he was buying...
I tried to explain to him that he in fact got stiffed by the salesman, but he didn't believe me...:grin:
