Thanks for the offer. I think I've decided on a 18,000 to 24,000 btu wall unit from Home Depot. Got a friend who's going to install this weekend if all goes well. As for insulating, it's not worth the money (cost of about $2000) since I only need to cool this space about 5 degrees at night. I use it as my work shop during the daylight hours. I'd be basically insulating a room that I only use about 3 nights a week for about 3 or 4 hours. Not worth the money or trouble. Besides, I'd have to unscrew the metal roof, put in a drop ceiling, and remove everything I have on the ways (probably take in a week to do that). I think the wall unit will handle my needs.
