John Chaplin of Coos Cues tells me that he has been banned from this site, which is too bad, seems like a very nice guy.
Can anyone here tell me what thread size he uses?

I saw a photo of one of his brass pins, but no description of size, etc.
Thanks!

Looks like a southwest type pin on most pictured. 3/8 x 11.

I see older ones that look 3/8 × 12

Honestly, don't want to bug him. He's building a cue for me and has said that he only does it as a 'hobby' and didn't want 'needy' customers to ruin it. I don't want to be one of those 'needy customers'.
Also wanted to learn what other Coos customers thought of the pins and joints.

If asking what your cue is being built with is "needy" you picked the wrong guy to build you a cue LOL The guy that built my cue had me over at his house for a bit as I tried different pins to see what balance and weight I liked better before the cue was completed and joint was glued in.

And it isn't unheard of for a maker to use different pins on different cues.

We can guess all you want, for free. Money back guarantee.

I could be wrong but I thought he started with a standard 3/8x10 then switched to the modified 3/8x10.

As far as Joint screws in general. There are a lot of makers who don't offer different joint screws. There are many who do.
It's one of those things but not a big thing.

John is on Facebook and would happily tell you about his pin specs I'm sure.
