Can someone tell me the specs on Cortland Linen.

Size (diameter), thread count, etc.

I have heard that Cuttyhunk made a linen thread very similar, even one with a green thread in it. If I wanted to grab some of the Cuttyhunk, which one?

#9 - 27lb

(9) 3 lb strands. Cuttyhunk is a type of linen. Its right around .025 thk.

Came in many colors, white / green, blue, black and red, came in solid black, natural, green, came in green with red spec.

Do a search I did a pretty informative post a few years ago.

It was an industry standard. Stay away from the silks, and braided dacron/nylon.

Cortland, Ashway, etc.. all .025 #9.

Yup. #9, 27 pound test.

Cuttyhunk is a place (an island) and a type or "style" of linen.

If you want the best find the #9 Cortland or Penn. Many will say the Penn is better. Finding it is the job. You will find old linen. I have some. But if you want Cortland or Penn those spools will be few and far between in general.

I have some Penn I would like to sell. Make me an offer.
