You have to know what your looking for, there were a couple of different linen materials used during the 1970's, Ashland was one of the others that is often mistaken for Cortland.

I hope this helps however, this is the only answer that can be given there are no distinguishing marking that will identify any of them for certain.

Best I could get. Its an old JOSS but the wrap feels very different than the other 70's JOSS cues I have. It is original.

The wrap in your picture is not the old style cotton linen, such as Cortland - Ashland - Ashaway etc....
