Cory Barnhart, Ed Prewitt, Rick Howard

All 60”. African Blackwood and tulipwood Cory Barnhart, pomelle bubinga and ebony Ed Prewitt, and 8 point tulipwood and ebony Rick Howard.

Currently splitting time between the Howard (a very recent acquisition) and the Prewitt, which has been my player for the last year or so. I understand all the praise people heap on Rick’s cues now - man, does it hit nice. The Barnhart is pretty but has mostly just sat in the case.

When I was 20 years old (27 years ago) I was stationed at Hurlburt Field, FL near Starcade Billiards. Rick played pool there and at that time was dating one of the nice ladies that worked there. BTW, Rick was/is a CHAMPION level player. I was a baby-faced, broke, Airman....who needed a cue. At the time, I didn't treat my Bludworth correctly in that humidity and it warped like a bow (the BUTT and SHAFT). I went for a period renting one of their Cuetec House Cues (which I got to playing good with). Rick was always really nice to me, and his girlfriend really liked me, so one day he came in and pulled a cue he had just built out of his case and sold it to me extremely cheap. I don't even want to say how cheap - but he was clearly doing me a favor. I played with that cue a long time. He even invited me out to his shop one day. He had a huge dog, named MACE if I remember correctly. That is what he called his break/jump cues? (Or am I making that up? Man, I'm getting old) Anyway, now you have me thinking I need another Rick Howard! Great cues.

Good story there. I still have my Mace I bought from him around 20 years ago. He was a good guy to deal with but I've never met him in person. Have a sneaky of his too which I never plan to sell.
