I have a very nice Cory Barnhart for sale. Purpleheart forearm with five points. Ebony points and very nice curly maple, recut, bridged veneers. Elephant ear wrap. Two shafts. See below for more details. Plays very nice. I like the hit of this cue, but it's worth more money than I want to have invested into a playing cue right now.

Price Drop. Now asking $1250. Or best offer. No trades. Paypal only. Price includes fees and shipping in the lower 48.

Forearm: Curly Purpleheart, medium purple color, a little curl
Veneers: Recut, Curly Maple, dead nuts even (the bridges are inlayed).
Points: Gaboon Ebony, not dead nuts even, but very good, about an eighth inch off.

EDIT: I have been informed that maybe I'm too picky (as if I didn't already know that) and that an eighth of an inch is quite a lot. Suffice it to say that to me the ebony points don't look EXACTLY even and the picture is a good representation of this. So if they look good to you in the picture, then you're good to go.

Wrap: Elephant Ear
Butt Sleeve: Gaboon Ebony
Ring Work: Rings of metal dots on the shafts (I like this simple design).
At C,D,E rings of metal dot crosses and line designs (not my cup o' tea).
Joint Collars: Black phenolic
Butt Cap: Black phenolic
Bumper: threaded bumber stem, recessed
Joint Protectors: No
Signature: "BARNHART" in pencil at the end of the black butt cap, inconspicuous, but visible.

Length: Butt: 29", Both Shafts: 29.5"
Weight: Butt: 15.1 oz, Shaft #1: 4.1 oz, Shaft #2: 4.0 oz
Adjustable Weight: Yes, at least one weight bolt installed.
Balance Point: 18.5"

Tip: Moori medium?
Ferrule: Aegis 2, 3/4" long
Joint Pin: black G-10, Radial
Joint Face: flat-faced, wood-to-wood

Diameter at tip: Shaft #1: 12.82 mm, Shaft #2: 12.72 mm
Diameter at joint: .845"
Diameter at end of butt: 1.275"

Shaft Taper: original Cory B. taper on shaft #1 - long gradual taper, stiff hitting shaft. Shaft #2 was thinned down some by MasonH, simulating the SW taper and plays less stiff than the other shaft.
Butt Taper: straight, not compound
Butt Straightness: rolls straight
Shaft Straightness: both have the typical very slight taper roll.
Together Straightness: cue rolls straight with both shafts on.
Tightness of joint fit: Average, not snug, but not sloppy loose.
Shaft Wood: Both shafts have a lot of growth rings. They're hard to count, but looks like about 20 growth rings at the joints. Shaft #1 ring's lines are pretty straight, shaft #2 are very straight.
Finish: Very nice

Cory B. has a lifetime warranty against construction defects, not warpage or abuse.

Amount of play time: about 20 hours

Condition: Extremely Excellent Condition. The end of the butt cap has a small area chipped off. The chip line is very thin and it's right at the end meeting up to the bumper, so it's not very conspicuous. It's about a quarter inch long and about a sixteenth inch width up from the end.

The wrap has two very, very small nicks.

EDIT: I just noticed that one of the wrap blemishes is actually visible in the picture. If you can't see it, then you're good to go.

Shaft Wood and Taper

Bump and a word about the shafts.

I bought this cue from Mason H. He told me that he's friends with Cory B. and that when Cory B. made this cue for him, he picked some of the best shaft wood he had on hand at the time. And I believe it. There are close to 20 rings at the joint on both shafts. The lines are pretty straight on each shaft too.

I guess Cory B. is known to make one of the stiffest playing shafts out there and that's why I wanted to try one of his cues. I'd probably be keeping this cue, except I don't want a cue this nice as my everyday playing cue, and I'm not a collector.

Shaft #1 with the original Cory B. taper has the nice quality of giving sufficient action on the cue ball, without adding access spin and sacrificing cue ball control. I'm super picky about shaft stiffness and like a very, very stiff playing shaft. When I order or buy another Cory B. I'll get one even stiffer at a full 13 mm.

Mason H. slimmed down Shaft #2 to play more like a Southwest. This shaft is still stiff, but less so than the one with the original taper. I haven't played much with this one. Looks like Mason played more with it.

Thanks
Don
