Couldn't help but notice...

I couldn't help but notice that a lot of custom cuemakers(not all) could use an overhaul on their websites....no offense intended at all, I have come to find in this particular market it seems to be all about word of mouth, not fancy logos and web design that sells a cue...

Anyways, if anyone would like an overhaul or a website from scratch please let me know...Free of charge, but perhaps we can work out a product compensation deal.

Im 23 years old fresh out of college where my major was graphic arts(Web design, magazine ads, logos...ect done on a computer)

http://www.hadjcues.host.sk/

Here is a sample of my work, I was making this page for Hadj Cues, but due to living on completely different sides of the world(Me in the USA, and Hadj in the Philippines) It was very difficult to communicate and get things done, but we worked something else out, and to show how good of a man Hadj is, he stuck by his end of the deal :)

Anyways, my biggest purpose of doing a project like this is to have something to add to my resume and portfolio.

And since I absolutely love the game of pool I would absolutely enjoy doing something like this.

Any question please PM me.

Thanks,

Jared

I love your post when you say.

"I couldn't help but notice that a lot of custom cuemakers(not all) could use an overhaul on their websites...."

So true.

lol well I have to be honest....I have seen some that have alot of coding issues/broken links/very poor web design

I would love to help someone in need, especially if your name as a builder isnt out there at the moment.

A website can be very important as it gives your business an image, and can even go as far as representing your companies worth....

Im guilty of going to websites and leaving in a rush after seeing the short cuts taken on the website....The quality of the site gave me this image of someone using a butter knife in their kitchen tapering a piece of particle board and calling it a shaft lol...

Maybe Im just echoing the words Ive heard in class, and also am more harsh than the average person based on the fact that I do this kind of stuff and know bad work when I see it...

Just like a cue maker who see's a Walmart cue lol

Ohhh and also, on the sample site I posted, please pardon the slow loading time and banner...This site is up on a free host that more than likely has poor servers and added the banner to advertise in exchange for free web space.

This is only a sample, and is not up on a .com that would be much better

Well I wish you luck in building a Client Base, so you can work in the field of your DREAMS?

Maybe you could get Ernie @ Gina Cue to do a Web-site....

Thank you :)

anyone who wants to get a site up and running I will do absolutely all of the work, minus the copy(the text for the site) which I could also help on the wording if needed, but ultimately the builders will be better at describing their own work lol, and pictures of cues I couldnt possibly take unless they were all sent to me, but I will do all design/layout/coding/uploading/picture editting

Also the sample layout I posted is up for grabs if anyone likes that, let me know, I can easily convert that into use for someone else.

Nothing works.

Is this page working? None of the links worked for me.

Does not work for me either. I also hope that the cues are prettier than the home page you came up with. Sorry please don't take offense, but I would strongly suggest you start over on this one. I am sure you can do better.;)

you should post this with a better thread title that describes what you are trying to do or in the cuemaker sections. Then you might get more responses. Oh the link worked ok for me using firefox.

The main page works, the links do not work, it's a sample layout, not a complete website...

as for the cues on the page, I had to work with very poor quality images, and tried to revive them, but with my monitor being 1680x1050 res, and calibrated, I sometimes go overboard and forget how it will look for other people on their montiors :)
