Does anyone have any feedback on the speeds between the CPBA comp and royal?
Thank you. For the response. What makes the cloth speed? I see Simonis has 760 and 860HR with same 70/30. I have also had people/installers swear regular 860 is faster than 860HR. When I asked someone selling it they said Royal was the fastest. I hope so. I have it on the way.https://www.cpbabrand.com/#manufacturing just a guess here but Royal is 85/15 to Comp's 70/30 so i'd say Royal would be more like 860 to Comp's 760 in speed terms. Comp is heavier/denser per sq/yd and that usually means faster as well. Might contact them direct but i think i'm close.
No. HR is faster than 860. speed comes from how the cloth is woven and the density of the threads themselves. the higher nylon content is faster. Simonis info that explains well: https://www.classicbilliards.net/pool-table-felt-cloth/simonis/compare-760-vs-860-vs-860hr.html Based on CPBA's info the Comp would be quicker. Its 70/30 and denser/heavier. I played on it but its been a while. It played about like HR, it wasn't blazing fast like 760. The Royal is probably like reg. 860, fast enough without being crazy. I prefer it because its better for rotation games/8b imo. I think you'll be fine.Thank you. For the response. What makes the cloth speed? I see Simonis has 760 and 860HR with same 70/30. No need for a poll dude. HR is faster than 860. If someone didn't stretch it correctly you may get slower speed. Everyone, including the maker Simonis, will tell you HR is faster. I've played a lot on both and HR is clearly quicker.Maybe we need that to be a poll lol. I've had both 860s and didn't notice the difference in speed granted I'm not a great player by any means. Is there a poll to confirm what players think on the speed of 860s?
