Cracked Scruggs SP Repair Options

Noticed a crack below the Pin. Only visible with when the shaft is on.
What are my options on saving this guy?

Not that uncommon. The best solution is definitely a shaft collar ring, preferably paired with a insert/plug of a harder material.

The way I'm reading your post. The crack is on the Butt.
Where is it?

On a Scruggs. I would use a white joint with the black ring like he did. This was a joss using a Revo. Joss has used the brown phenolic in the past but with a 1/2" black ring. I went smaller to match the Revo.

Also considered a stainless joint...the added weight would probably require coring the butt.

That would depend on what you like in a cue.
Does it have a weight bolt?
How much does that weigh?
What kind of Stainless Joint?
Full 5/8 thread or 3/4 thread?
