In the early '90 to mid '96 I used to write a monthly article for a now defuncted Regional Billiard Magazine "The Player" published by Connie Williams, Jerry Swift, and Swift Printing out of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. We also { Swift Printing, Jim McDermott,Mike Bretts, and Myself } held the first Toys 4 Tots Pool Tournament at Tulsa Billiards Room " The Tulsa Billiard Palace" and later at "Magoo".

What does this have to do with Crown Cues, and coming Full Circle? Simple 12 years later I found the best hitting 100% Performance Player Cue
from the same town that brought me Joy into the Billiard World, of Writing and Billiard, "BROKEN ARROW, OKLAHOMA" Full Circle!

Believe me, this picture doesn't do justify to the wood grains or true color. This cue more Beautiful in person. The Maple Burl you would find on more expensive cue in the $800 plus range. View the LOA for Spec.

I don't know how Gene combine the Handle, Butt Sleeve, and Forearm. Whether with wood thread joint or metal pin, even if he use a weight bolt. But the balance is so natural [ 18" from bumper] I think it a one piece cue I holding.

It hit is firm but soft and stiff [ the way I like it]. No Click or Thud. Just the Crackling of balls falling into pocket.

The design of the cue is simple, but elegency. The Crown butt plate design add exquisite to the already elegency cue. As my wife stated it may be a crown for a man, but it could be my tiara.

Gene, might be unrated or not well known in the cue world. But his cue are 100% Player Cue and his price are well below what they should be price. Giving time they will be.

Thank Gene for making a player cue, now I can retire my Dieckman!

The one mistake or question I fail to ask : Is when I want another shaft does the butt need to be sent or are your diameter the same?

Don't forget you also get a loa. Both Gene and his wife Renee' are some of the finer people to work with.

When Bob says he is retiring his Dieckman, it is time to take notice. I can see that the burl is gorgeous...cat's paws all over. Ned Morris made me a cue like that some years ago and I never should have let it go. Best of luck to you with the new cue!!! We should all be so fortunate as to have one we love as much, and to have a majik wand for a backup.

Thank Drawman623, for the comment. There been many different cuemaker cues I have shot with. There also lot of up and coming cuemaker, who problaby also made a great player cue.

As we both know when you brought a Dieckman, you also became a family member. I truly believe this could be the same with Crown. Gene is also building me a Masse Cue also.

The finish on the cue is glossy but satin in a way, which both my wife and I love. His Signature on the cue just blend in and as elegency, but dosen't distract from the appearance. I'm hoping to see Crown Cue in March during Super Expo in Pa.

Here Gene website if you haven't been to it: http://www.crowncues.biz/

I welcome opinion of other AZers' who own or have play with a Crown Cue.

I haven't put a micro to get all the spec., yet. But the shaft taper on this cue look to be about 6" at 13mm. Remember this cue is 53" in length. I believe Crown Cue normal pro taper is 12".

I used to own a really nice crown cue...I was stupid and sold it.

it played every bit as good as my southwest - I am very impressed with gene's cues

I should buy another

they get an A+++

Ryan

ps- I used to live in Tulsa, I love the palace

Hey Ryan,

I appreciate the good words. Wasn't that a Bubinga cue with points and inlays?

Whenever you're ready for another one, just shoot me an e-mail. If I don't have what you're looking for on the website, we can always work out a custom design for you.

Merry Christmas!!

Is this cue actually 53 inches long or is that a typo?? I am just curious not being critical.. I'd love to see a closeup of the burl forearm also.. Looks sweet.

Dan! No typo. True 53" actually. When I return from Charleston, SC, I will post picture of the burl forearm.
