I am thinking heavily about pulling the trigger and asking Gene to build me a cue. I have been on his website for the past week, drooling and using his Estimator program to build and prices cues. I searched and could not find many reviews pertaining to Crown Cues. So if you own or have played with a Crown Cue, could you please post a picture of it and tell me how it plays. Thanks

Its is with great pleasure that i will be giving a review of my thoughts and opinion of my 2 new Crown Cues. First off i must start with Gene and Renee' especially Renee' who made this transaction run so smoothly. But lets not forget the man behind the scene,Gene, His Crafstmanship is breath-taking truely some works of art. The cues hit very solid, i tried a couple of new tips and am very impressed with the hit. I bought a 60" and the balance is just perfect. In closing for those of you who havent checked out Crown Cues, you are missing out. Its so refreshing to do business with some great people, after being burned by a few not so good businessmen.

Here a few pictures of my new CrownCues Masse Cue. Gene bend over backward to insure I received the cue to my spec. Even with all the bad weather and manmade shop, when his shop was hit by torando. Review coming later. But he did buy a special request Tip for the cue. An Everest Tip, which is also use by a friend name Jamison Neu. Thank CrownCues. My signature said it all!

Hey Bob!

Thanks for the compliment on the cue and the booth. Thanks to Floyd for the great write-up, and to Diamond Dave for the compliment on the wood used for Bob's cue. Gene is having major computer issues today, so I'm writing for him. (With him being a man of few words, I'm sure I'll be writing a lot more than he would write, too.)

The trip to the Expo was great. We arrived back home on Wednesday, the 25th. We've been working hard to get some Expo pics and new cue pics on our website. We've been non-stop busy, since we returned home from the Expo.

Gene is also building his first limited edition series, The Royal Twister. The auction for the first one has already begun at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320354976036&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:1123 There are pics of the wood and the expected design on the auction page. (He's using some wicked Maple and some sharp-looking Cocobolo) There is also an update page about the cues at http://www.crowncues.biz/royaltwister.html

For the record, the guys in that pic of the booth are some of the world's best trick shot artists, who were there for the Masters competition. They are some really great guys.

Again, thanks to all of you for the kind words. On a day when Gene wants to take a baseball bat to his computer, they are extra nice to hear.

I was at the expo an met up with crown cues, and all i can say is his cue are very under rated.. they play great. and i put in a order for one ..
He is a very nice man and will you help all the with a new cue ..
Very good person and great hitting cues..

Gene and Renee are great people. I don't think anyone could go wrong with one of his cues.

Crown Cues booth was right behind mine at the EXPO. I really liked the look of his cues. While I was standing at the stairs directing people to our ICA meeting I overheard a group of trick shot artists comparing notes and I overheard one of them say Crown made the best Masse' cues in the world. That was an unsolicited review so I think they must be doing something right.
Another thing is Crown Cues prices are really reasonable.

I appreciate the good words. It's good to know that I have the support of my customers and peers.

The Expo was great, but we're still trying to catch up. My computer was down for a bit, which hasn't helped.

Thanks for the unsolicited review, Chris. It's always good to hear those.

When I stopped by the Crown booth they were swamped with customers but I did get a chance to play with a buddies Crown cue this week during this weeks local BCA league.

First off the cue had an old school look and feel to it that I liked very much, mostly due to the satin finish.

The woods, Narra (I think) and wavey maple were outstanding. The showstopper for me was the shaftwood. 25+ gpi very straight maple. Wow.

This cue was nicely balanced and felt great in the hands. The handle seemed slightly smaller than usual in diameter. The hit was solid and very stiff. I am used to an OB1 shaft so this monster 13mm shaft was very different with less action, more deflection but way more feel.

I would love to see a photo of the Crown butt cap before its assembled.

Next year I will make it a point to stop buy the booth and say hi.

Thanks for the great review and we'd be glad to meet you, next year, or sooner, if we cross paths. Even if we get really busy, like we did this year, don't pass us up, okay? Be ready to try out a cue or two, if you find some you like. We hope to share a table with Triple Cross Cues again, next year.
