Just place the peice of crown molding upside down on ur mitre saw and have the peice held in place while ur cutting it. Basically meaning like the table of ur saw is the ceiling amd the fence of ur saw is the wall. Amd so ur cut will be the short point of ur measurements. Hold In place at the correct angle upside down so both sides are flat against the fence amd table like they would be touching the wall an ceiling. Just upside down. And now cut one side of ur molding, say u turn ur mitre to the left first. To.45 degrees Cut it. Then just measure from the inside shortest point of ur cut. The one that would be up against the wall. And measure over and make ur mark on the very edge of the peice. Now just turn mitre to the right to 45 degrees and make ur cut. It will be perfect every time. Buddy.
Then just when ur cutting the side peices just start with a square peice from one end amd pull ur measurement from square side upside down again p.m. if u have any questions. Hope I helped u. .kind of hard to write to explain. Would only take 30 seconds to tell ya. Lol.
