CSI Qualifier Miami cancelled... Such BS

Todd, would you feel the same if you were a room owner. How long do you think they would stay in business?

I gotta say I agree with him. Like I said in the other post, if you have people from out of town show up, it should go. I know it may lose a little money to start, but not as much as just turning everyone away and wasting their money and time. I really hope this gets going, I love the idea of having a big-time tourney here, so I wish you all the best. I am rooting for you, not against you.

On iPhone, so have to make it short :) thanks to everyone's support. Dialogue and communication regardless of the circumstances is always good. I have taken steps to make sure this type of situation will not happen, if possible again. Despite who did or did not communicate with one another in Florida and how or when, it is my responsibility to make it right for the future. The owner of New Wave Billiards still supports the NCS and is a thoughtful and genuine soul who loves this sport. Both his rooms has 31 9' tables. I promised him I will work more directly with him in the future.

also, all banners, flyers and marketing materials are produced in house to try to keep costs down, which we pass on to the rooms by keeping the sanction fees low, which in turn allows the qualifier entries to be reasonable to have a chance at a national event. I am glad to hear that the original poster has not given up and sounds like your a pretty sporty player.

I'm all about helping pool. Especially here in south Florida. I feel like there's a bunch of talent down here that could use more exposure through events like these. Holly if you ever need any help spreading the word or even coordinating an event like this in the future in Miami or south florida I'd be more than willing to donate my time and resources. I hope we can have an event in the near future down here where players from out of state come and play. There's plenty of hospitable rooms and players in Miami. I'm sure people will be able to find action as well. Thanks again for your time Holly I appreciate it alot.

Story to convey!

I happened to be in Hawaii last year when the NCS 8-ball qualifiers took place at Hawaiian Brian's. They advertised two tournaments, one on a saturday and one on a sunday. I was unable to play either due to family commitments but found out that only 7 players showed up on Saturday.

Here is the good part. The room offered paid trips to Vegas for winning the qualifier, including airfare, and even though only 7 people showed up, they kept their word and sent the two players!

Just my opinion, but I think this is a great example of what should be done. I don't know the policy of CSI, but I would somehow find a way for a room that is hosting a qualifier to guarantee a fully paid spot to the national tourney before awarding them the qualifying event in the first place.

I thought this little bit would help this conversation. Props to Hawaiian Brian's.
