Hello I live in Canada and we use Compusport so have CSR rating but want to play some tournaments in Michigan that uses Fargo rating. Anyone know how to convert snd if entering a Fargo rated tourney can they use my CSR to rank me without making up a dumb number and changing it drastically after tourney starts?
I looked up my name and even though I've never played a Fargo rated tourney shows they have me as a 478 with 18 robustness but have a compusport of 1634 with 5 star rating.
The weird think is I'm rated way higher CSR than my buddy that we have played same league for 24 years and hasn't beat me in a scored match that whole time but his Fago is 616

Just as a PSR to the AZB group. I also live in Canada and I hope you believe me when I say that not all of the nation uses Compusport. In fact only TD's that dislike their players use Compusport....lol
Ya not sure who does or doesn't but all of know is most of Ontario or every person that attends our Provincials uses Compusport so thats how we are ranked

There you go again ;)

Only time I've been subjected to Compusport is at the APA nationals in Vegas. ...and man is it a pain in the ass.

Fortunately all the events that I've played in that report brackets online have been done with DigitalPool. Of course that doesn't mean all of Ontario or our nation do as well.

Sorry I can't give you an answer to the comparable fargo vs compusport rating.

Just so you understand with Fargo, if you have a rating and don't shoot for a couple of years, your rating will drop dramatically. I was given a rating by our league manager a couple years back because I was thinking of shooting a tournament. My rating was pretty accurate as another member in our league who shoots a lot of tournaments and had a league average virtually identical to me, had a Fargo rating within a couple of points of what my league operator had given me. Fast forward two years and I never did shoot a Fargo rated tournament. I was thinking of shooting one the other day and looked up my rating. It had dropped almost 200 points even though I never shot any tmt that reports to or needed a Fargo rating. If I ever were to go shoot a rated tmt, I would let them know it should be higher, or just have my league operator give me a new rating.

This is not true. In such circumstance your rating might not change at all, or it might go up as well.

There are a number of factors that influence this such as some of your previous matches age to the point that they stop carrying as much or any weight towards your rating, or the ratings of some of your past opponents changes which in turn makes your rating change, etc.

Poolplaya, you could be right, but I never had any previous matches. Never had anything entered other than my league operator giving me a starting rating at the time, I would assume based on one of our other league players Fargo ratings who used to shoot tournament's most weekends and had a lot of games in Fargo. Our league uses a different scoring system but probably about 2/3rds of the players regularly shoot tournaments, so it was quite easy for him to put me in for a starting Fargo rating. I have never shot any tournament, but since I was given a rating a couple years back, my league average has gone up a little over 10%, yet the Fargo rating I was given dropped apx 200 points without ever having anything entered in the Fargo system other than a starting rating. Also based on my league averages at this time and comparing that to other league players that shoot Fargo rated tournaments, my actual Fargo rating now should be apx 40-50 points higher than my initial rating given at that time.

No you just have a few matches from a 2019 tournament in I think North Bay, ON

It is likely you have no starter guess set and somebody just created a record. If so you would see a number that has no meaning that is just an artifact of the calculation. I think that means-nothing number has come down by a couple hundred in the last few years.

A good rule of thumb is CSR = Fargo + 1200
I compared many players with large sample size and that seems to be pretty close with over 200+ games or robustness….
