CTE/Pro One Practice Table Set Up 2

Stan, what are you implying? I am an entrepreneur myself, I know how hard the work of entrepreneur is and I am not stealing anything from anyone!

You have a big imagination! Unbelievable!

This is classic......lol

Stealing....good grief!

I'm about to be an asshole here and for that I do apologize.

Nick, the questions you are asking are not necessary to using Pro One. It doesn't matter though, because Stan has gone out of his way to answer them anyways. Yet you continue to ask them and other unnecessary questions. So now one must assume you're either trolling or just not smart enough to understand.

Maybe you should have had your so called "friend" help you out. But let me guess, he didn't understand the system either?

BeiberLvr, if you noticed Stan did not reply to the main question, some others answered some other questions in a different thread and I am thankful to them. However, I wanted to confirm my main question.

Here is what I mean. When I shoot, I can memorize positions and memorize the picture of the lines that lead to pocketing the object ball. No problem. I am trying to understand if there is a special figure, special shape that is identical for each position or it is different for each position and one needs to memorize it and shoot. I just try to understand if I am missing anything. This is the primary question of all my discussions.

On the terminology, it is secondary. However, depending on what the word "center" means, it is going to be either non-changeable point on/above the table or will change depending from which point we look at it. So, my questions are not that stupid. You see, I hear, the visuals are important. Ok, I trust. Then I am trying to understand what each line means and then someone thinks I am trolling or stupid.

There is a logic behind my questions and has roots in certain mathematical theories but believe me trolling is not my intend. I have never seen someone who knows CTE Pro1 elaborated on the subject.

P.S. My friend does not play pool but because of my friend I know about CTE Pro1.

How many times do people have to tell you it's a visual system, and as of right now, can't be fully explained using math?

Just once is enough, my questions are different though and not about how to describe it using math. If you do not know the answers, it is ok. I do not need someone to repeat it saying they do not know. Posted just in case if someone knows how to explain it (After your comment I thought I was missing something). If not, then not. No big deal. What can I do? :)

You wont find the answer's your seeking. They've gotten so good at what they do that they've left the conscious world and have entered a subconscious plane.
I have know doubt Jimmy Morrison himself is there playing.Oops... I mean writing lyrics.

Just Kidding:smile:

BTW everything can be explained through Math!
Problem is you just cant explain it.;) Not you Nick.

I think the problem is your lack of fundamental understanding of CTE/Pro One. It is entirely evident in the questions you ask and the way you ask them. Answering your questions is akin to proving a negative.

I empathize with you though. Had I not had the benefit of some face to face lessons with Stan and Stevie, I doubt that I would have stayed the course with CTE/Pro One. Given Stan's numerous YouTube video additions, I am optimistic about the next DVD shedding a lot more light on some of the more difficult to understand aspects of his aiming system. I certainly don't take your questions as a personal affront, I could care less what aiming system you prefer or what you think.

What I think people take issue with is it is rather obvious you aren't going to invest table time and commitment to CTE/Pro One but continue to ask all these questions that in many cases simply don't make sense. If you have even a sincere intellectual interest in the system, it stands to reason you would have kept the DVD, studied more intensely and put in table time to test it out.

And BTW, one of the simplest trolling methods is to ask seemingly "innocent" questions, over and over again, as a way to show your disdain for something while playing the "what, I'm innocent card". The Resident Expert Troll English is an expert at that. I believe the majority of people see right through that crap and find it insulting how the person trolling believes they are pulling one over on people. I'm not necessarily accusing you of that but I can assure you that is how it appears to most at this point.

I for one find it rather bizarre when someone posts their picture as an icon on the world wide web. To each their own.

If you spent less time trolling, and more time learning how to read, you'd see that I said "as of right now"

Luckily for me, knowing the math behind Pro One isn't necessary to using the system.

I'll give it one more go cause I'm so stubborn.

For a right, thick, say 10 degree, cut to the corner, can you stand so you see a line running from the centre of the CB to the outside edge of the OB

AND

with the inside edge of the CB aligned the the right quarter ('C') of the OB?

Can you get yourself into this alignment? If not - why not?

I never told I do not try it at a table. These are the questions I had after I tried.

> Can you get yourself into this alignment?

I can imagine the lines, it is not a problem. What does "alignment" mean? When I move my eyes or my head, I still can see both lines. I can imagine them at new position according to my view or I can freeze the old lines and see them at the old location.

No you can't, and it's pretty easy to prove.

Draw a large circle on a blank sheet of paper, and tape the paper on a wall roughly at eye level.

Now stand about 6' or so away from the paper, and hold your left arm straight in front of you at eye level. You may have to close your non-dominant eye (if you have one) to do this correctly.

Point only your left index and middle finger at the circle. Your middle finger should point to the left edge of the circle. This is the center-to-edge line. Your index finger should be pointing at the right quarter of the circle. This represents the aiming line, which in this case, is pointed at C.

Now simply move your head to the left or right. You'll notice that even the slightest movement will change the perception of where your fingers are pointing, despite not moving your arm.

Thanks! This kind of information is what I am after. One step toward understanding it.
I need some time to process it though to understand how to apply it for CTE and of course try it on a table. Your example explains something. :)

Like I said "half wit" the math is there.I agree it's not necessary but 2 dvds and months and year's of practice is needed. Why?

You are so lucky.:)

Because contrary to popular belief, it's not the magic bullet that some make it out to be. Mostly the people that know nothing about the system.

Pro One is no different than any other aiming system or technique, and still requires hours upon hours of practice to get it right.

Just like learning how to draw the CB. The technique is simple enough, but I've never met a player that's just starting to play pool be able to execute it flawlessly on their first try. Then even when they do get it down, they have to put in even more time learning how to control the speed.

Nothing is easy unless you put in the work.

You're being pedantic - you know what alignment means.

I see what you are saying. Once you have the CTEL and 'C' alignment (yes, alignment- you know what it means) you then move anywhere 'remembering' where those 2 lines are. So according to you, you can even stand behind the OB and still 'see' those 2 lines.

You should give up if you haven't already. Try HAMB.
