CTE/Pro One ~ The Final Chapter - First Impression

Thanks, Gerry! I appreciate your comments.

Yes, I agree, I really like thinking of the perceptions as 15 30 45 60. I believe that every one that uses CTE PRO ONE will prefer that as well. But the foundation to learning the perceptions start out as A B C CTE 1/8 7/8......simply part of the learning process.

Stan,

As someone who has moved from a C- to a B+ player because of your help--

thank you for your work on CTE PRO 1 ... I was lucky to see some of the footage early during my last visit and the final product (DVD2) is simply amazing.

I also would like to thank you for the youtube vids... they are very helpful and a great addition to the body of knowledge to you have put out there.

best wishes in the New Year to you and your family,

Neal

Yes, thank goodness for editing.
Concerning my YouTube videos: A recent video: A PROFESSIONAL APPROACH was in part prompted by one of our discussions related to an observation of yours at a US OPEN. Thanks again for sharing that.

Out of curiosity, is it important to have the first DVD prior to the second? Are they sequential in instruction, or can one purchase DVD #2 from the start?

Also, I imagine it certainly pays to have a table for use while watching the DVD? Is it realistic to think you could be effective learning the system without a table at home? I suppose one could take a laptop to the pool hall...

I understand a bit about manual pivots with CTE (not pro1) after reading some of Mohrt's blogs last year.

Anyone can be good to go with DVD2. Dvd1 is not a prerequisite for DVD2 .

I've been a CTE player for about 8 or so years...maybe 9. Stan met Hal the day before I first met Hal. Even after all this time, I learned quite a bit from this DVD set.

This is a complete CTE course from beginning to end. Super detailed.

Over the years, I evolved into a single pivot: always left to right. This video is going to have me reconfigure the way I incorporate the system by bringing the right to left pivot back into the mix. Stan definitely proved the need for both.

Stan is a tremendous teacher...well done!

Thanks, Dave!

I would be remiss if I did not mention that not only did you do all technical diagramming for DVD1 but you also executed all the diagrams for DVD2. The diagrams were done perfectly and needless to say, they add SO MUCH to the content. Many thanks for work on both DVDs.

Cte - pro one

Received the double disk set DVD 2 in the mail yesterday. (thanks for the quick shipping Stan)

Like a new book, you can't wait to turn the page. Watched the whole set all the way through last night. Got up at 5am this morning and started the disk set over from chapter one. The pivot exercise is very helpful. Thanks

As I have stated in previous posts I have seen Stan's 37 videos on YouTube 3 or 4 times. This disk set puts it all together for me

I will be practicing CTE - Pro-one everyday for months to come. I hope I catch on quick. I'm 67 and won't be able to invest the 8 years that Dave has invested.

Thanks Stan. Now its off to the store to buy some checkers.

Happy New Year All

John, I really like your review. What you indicated is that DVD2 puts it all together. That was precisely my intention and purpose for this new work. Yes, there is much information on YouTube but DVD2 is where it is all brought together. It all starts with the geometric ties and progresses to perceptions and then pivots and sweeps. Ultimately the entire system that can be used to unlock the visuals for any shot is taught in great detail in just 3 easy to follow chapters. All in all there are 21 chapters, essentially an encyclopedia of CTE PRO ONE.

I am now fully confident that I have mastered the sweeps, and so I was a little hesitant about buying the 2nd DVD. But after reading these reviews I decided to purchase it today. Looking forward to watching as soon as it delivers.

I just finished watching over a two day period. It took two days, because I was constantly pausing and going over to my "workbench" to practice certain things.

This DVD set has everything that the first DVD had, plus so much more.

Money has been a little tight, but once I get a little saved up, I'll be making a trip to Kentucky for some lessons.

10/10 for this DVD. Great job, Stan.

I'm not trying to help Stan sell DVD's.

I have been playing for over 5 decades and all I can say is you need to get this DVD set. Your going to have to play the videos over and over again and then some more. You will not be disappointed.

My eyes have now been opened to a whole new way of playing the game.

The sweeping is golden.

Many thanks to Landon and Stevie for there contribution. I already squat, just need to work on the torque move. Kinda like golf.

God Bless George Fels and my condolences to his family. RIP my George.

Agree. Not to mention the material that isn't even CTE/Pro One related. Chapter 4 was one of the biggest eye openers for me so far. It was actually something I started doing on my own, but the chapter really hit home for me and confirmed what I was doing already. I even made a print out for myself of all the practice shots to go over this weekend.

I'm happy that Landon is pursuing college and a life outside of pool, considering how sad the state of the game is right now in America. However, I do hope that he sticks with it and plays some big events in the future. The kid is capable of winning anything.

Thanks Stan! Finished my second viewing. Lot's of material to digest. This has answered some questions I still had. Very well done! Thanks again Stan!

IMO, to sum up, it seems like The CTE Pro One's 'shot line prospective' to ANY SHOT gives one 'the permission' to then apply one's 'speed and spin' knowledge safely and accurately.

Efficient! ...

The sweeping is golden. I like that. I have never heard it put quite that way. The sweeps are very natural and I am sure you have doing them already to some degree. To me it's simply amazing how the sweeps allow you to fall effortlessly onto the shot lines.

Many thanks for your comments, John!

I have watched many hundreds of hours watching the pro players play on YouTube. Paying attention to their fundamentals. Not once have I ever paid attention to the sweeping motion that they use. DUH!!!

So, its back to watching the YouTube matches over paying attention to the sweeping.

I ran across this one, Bustamante vs Compton. All I can say is watch Bustamante, his sweeps stick out like a sore thumb.

Yes, about Bustamante, his cue movements during full stance are always left to right but if one observes his physical movements into full stance, he absolutely uses right and left sweeps. IOW, his eyes are essentially thickening or thinning the shot during his visual movement to center cue ball.

As an instructor, the single most thing that has surprised me over the years is that the sweeping motions of the pros were never pointed out in any way for any reason until PRO ONE emerged as a technique during my studies of CTE about seven years ago.

For saying such things, that YES, stick out like a sore thumb have resulted in me being in a corner a few times over the years but that's okay, I have fought well from the corner.

Thanks for your comments, John.

Hi All,
Well I've just finished my first viewing of "The final chapter".
Totally stunned at the information contained in the 2 dvds.
I don't know how anyone can doubt the accuracy of this incredible aiming system.
Also I believe that "Pro One" the original dvd should not to be dismissed altogether but rather "The final chapter" to be an extension of "Pro One".
Thumbs up

Imo Landon Shuffett and Phil Burford are two of the best young players i ve seen in a VERY long time- not just relating Pro1- both have a superb technique- their fundamentals are so rocksolid- i was really impressed.

I m also really glad, that Landon has chosen the way of *education first*..and then pool.

Yes, there is a lot of info packed into those. 2 DVDS.

I too love this DVD. For me , seeing the footwork made everything click with the sweeps. And like Landon , I am severely left eye dominant so watching him helped with my alignment. Lots of work to go but I really appreciate what Stan has put out. I think it's great that we have this talent here to help us with our game.
I'm going to go back and watch the first DVD again as I think I will understand it more and hope to pick up a few more tips.
