Hearing the balls.....

Hi guys.

very nice video from Stan shooting 15 balls into pocket-without seeing the pocket- pocket covered with a curtain.

Very good idea Stan- now the discussions can begin from new, hrhr^^

Keep up with the good work Stan- hats off.

That is indeed very impressive. I suspect that he finds the line with the perspective of two contiguous rails being in his field of view. I wonder how well he'd do if the curtain was straight across the table, obscuring view of the foot rail. I imagine he's still make them, but maybe not as reliably? Nonetheless, I'm very impressed!

No - he makes them as reliably - I have seen it. The objectives provide the path to the pocket. I was shocked when Stan whipped out the curtain but it doesn't impact the ability to make the ball at all.

Another outstanding video from Stan. This should give the everybody something to think about.
looking forward to DVD2.

Makes a guy wonder where the weakness is in Stan's game that prevents him from being a top pro? It sure isn't aiming.

Beats the 15 ball ghost... runs of 12 (maybe +) in banks... 100+ 14.1... pretty darn good "amateur"...... maybe having a career, raising a couple of kids... and spending several years contributing to knowledge of the game... might be the answer :groucho:

You are right in that my aim is just fine.

I was a good local player growing up and then from 18 to 25 I got my education. I earned my BA and then a Masters in education. No regrets.

I started teaching in public schools at age 25 and completed my formal career at 55.

I chose to work and pool became a serious significant other interest.

I also had many other interest to include golf and music. I also spent 5 years earning and I do mean earning a 1st degree black belt in Shorin Ryu.
I also competed in many marathons of 26.2 miles in length and completed in 1 ultra marathon, 50 miles in length. I participated in many triathlons at 1/2 ironman length.

In addition to my public school work, I taught billiards at a local university for 15 years.

As far pool accomplishments go, I have done well. I have a top 10 US Open 1 pocket to my credit as well as a Top 10 BCA National 8 ball finish.
I have won many regional tournaments and many matches against professional players.

I am still improving and at 61 finished 25th at our US Open.

I have a mindset that I can accomplish about anything that I set out to.

In recent years I set our to solve the CTE mystery and I think DVD2 will bear that out quite positively.

I don't think that I have any real weaknesses. As Rick Pitino said, SUCCESS IS A CHOICE. I am proud to say that I am thrilled with my choices and their outcomes. I have made mistakes and I have learned from them.

I may be weak by my nature as a human but I always try to do right by others. My life will bear that out.....

The last thing on my mind is "stinkin' thinkin'"!

I guess the weakness you have in your "game" is not wanting to be a bum. I would call that a strength as a human but may not translate to being unbeatable on the table. You may well be the best pool player alive with a job unrelated to pool and family.

I was sort of serious though in wondering in what areas your game falls short of the best, strictly from a technical standpoint. The not wanting to be a bum led to some aspect of your skills not being as honed as those who devoted their entire lives to pool. It was a serious question, not any kind of a knock or slight. I guess what I meant is where do you typically get into trouble on the table when you fail to win? It appears not to be missing open shots.
