For those of you who gave up. I watched the DVD several times and found myself confused and with many unanswered questions and just put it aside. I knew Hal Houle personally when he lived in Calif before he developed CTE and I had the utmost respect for the man. I would read posts by others who seemed intelligent but I had already given up on the system. The other day I opened the Aiming Systems Section which I had promised myself to never do. That night I got out the DVD and reviewed it again but I was determined to watch only the 1st part without going into the Pro1 portion. This time I didn't let Stans shifting his stance or floating into his bridge without any explanation throw me. I concentrated on the lines and the 6-6.50mm pivot. As I recall he called this something like the "mechanical method." I experimented with the system for about an hour today and started to understand that part of CTE. Sometimes I made small errors but a lot of times I pocketed balls that my brain was trying to tell me wouldn't go but I stroked through line and they did. Even when I missed it was by less than an inch and I knew that eventually with practice they woud fall. I am going to continue working with this system as I have confidence that a person like Hal is a solid person and told me long ago that this system was on the way and that intelligent people like Spidey and Stan and others would have dismissed the system long ago if it hadn't proved itself to them. But it is going to be a long time before I delve into the next portion of the DVD. So those of you who didn't believe in the system or found it confusing go back to it and go over the beginning part over and over and don't go to the Pro1 part until you understand the lines and the small pivot and you can trust the line rather than your brain that sometimes misleads you. As many people have said "At this point you don't have to know the whys."

This is a good post. I think manual pivot should be learned before moving on to pro-one.
