I'd first like to say hi to Keith and everyone. I'm joining the Falcon Cue Tour (or whatever the name is going to be) this year and hope to see Keith at the Feb 7 event. I'll be glad to meet you in one of the rounds. Everyone needs an easy round every now and then on their way to the finals so I could be the welcome break!! :-) Gotta get used to the format and level of play. Hoping I'll be some kind of challenge after a few weekends of play.

My questions:
I once located a 3B/5S hard luggage-style case but can't seem to remember the web site I found it on. If anyone knows where I can find a good 3B/5 or 4S case and can drop the URL or phone number, I'd appreciate that, also.

Also, I'm looking into getting a new cue and a jump/break cue. I currently play with a $45 Dufferin that I won off someone when I was 17 or 18, I'm 35 now. The stick has had it's time, played well, never warped (I store it in my CAR!), but is starting to show signs of age.

I've been checking out the local shops and online but am having trouble locating a stick. I HATE wraps so I'm looking for an all wood model, no frills, just a good solid stick.

I looked into Predator, but have read that the liited shaft deflection from the 314 may actually cause me to change my game a bit from my current hardwood 21oz beater. I'm not into the changing game scene.

I found a Lucasi stick that I like the looks of but don't know the quality. It's online and no one in the area has even heard of Lucasi till I mentioned them. I was wondering if any of you have heard of them, played them, or have any idea of the quality. I'm looking at the L-E80 cue and L-SS2 break/jump cue. Any help would sincerely appreciated.

Thanks!!
Chuck

Hey, I might have just the Lucasi cue for you. They are OK cues. I don't think it is really up to pro standards. But I am not a pro. Anyway, I got the thing as a stop gap. It is heavy - 21 OZ like your dufferein. It has one regular shaft and one predator. Uniloc piloted joint. The predator has a little ding. It came w/ it I didn't do it I swear. I bought it at a local dealer who ordered it in for a guy and he didn't pick it up. I also got some black gunk on it from a porper case, but this will come off. The wrap is a little loose like many lucasis. It is also slippery. I too prefer no wrap or leather. I got it because I hated the cue I had when I started playing again and I hit them well w/ that particular cue. Used it until I got a custom. Even won a dinky bar box tourn w/ it. It looks allright. Ebony points, the white inlay stuff. Not ivory on a foreign production. It has rings. Some have complemented me on it, but guys w/ production cues, not high quality cues. If you want it I'd probably sell it. I am not actively trying, and I don't have a dig. cam so won't post pics. You might or might not like it and I can't really recommend it highly. It is a decent production stick. Nothing more.

If you need a no-wrap non-custom stick fast I would get on the phone w/ Schuler cues and order a no-wrap model and get it shipped express. You can select different shafts and can get more shafts for different games. I like the "American" taper shaft. It is a stiff pool shaft. The "European" taper is a short and very firm shaft for pool or billiards. It is real stiff for pool and fine for billiards. It isn't the stiffest billiard shaft and doesn't have an extremely fat taper. But the "American is a nice stiff pool shaft. They have more flexible shafts too. Schulers are significantly better than Lucasi IMO. They don't look great IMO, but they play very well. And you can get somebody on the phone who knows the product. Schuler is the only production cue I would consider in the future probably. It is better than any other production cue I have owned or hit with IMO.

Thanks for the offer but I have already contacted a cue maker in Oklahoma who is making the cues for me. He is JW Petree at www.oklahomabilliards.com

After exhausted research I found that the Lucasi was not going to be the cue for me.
