I bought a wood to wood jointed cue and I don't like the tip thats on it, any suggestions what tip would go good for this joint type?

I miscue with it to much!

I just put Moori III medium on a low priced wood joint sneaky pete and I am loving it.

No miscues and control is good.

A miscue is usually the result of a stroke problem rather than a tip problem.

I have a cue with a Moori III medium on it and another shaft with a Talisman Pro Medium pigskin tip. Both play just fine. However, after some time, maybe 15 to 20 hours or so, I don't really know how long, the Moori will start to miscue more easily, and requires some scuffing. Then it's just fine. The Talisman almost never needs scuffing, just chalking. My preference? The Talisman.

You know, until very recently, I would not have believed that, but it's absolutely true.

maybe!, but this is a new cue to me and I have picked up house cues and haven't missed as much then with this, seems it won't hold to the cueball, I didn't scuff it up but maybe i'll try that first, then If that doesn't work i'll have a one of my moori's put on.

I really like the Tiger Sniper tip. I put in on a Players cue. I sold my friend my Pechauer and after playing with my Players last night he joked he was going to have to buy this one, too. I can't remember what tip I had on the JP. But I haven't played with enough different tips to really give advice, I just know I like the Sniper a lot.

If your miscue'n too much and want to switch tips, goto a Med or soft tip, and then try that. For a low pirce tip try a Elkmaster Soft if that is too soft goto a Med.

I would hafta agree on miscue'n is mainly the stroke, but i had a instance last yr in a bar, and i was miscue'n on soft shots and after about the 3rd one, i looked at the chalk and noticed it was Pioneer chalk, WTF !!!!!

Also, has anyone ever tried playing with a WaterBuffalo tip? they are very hard and its easy to miscue on them.

I had a Talisman WaterBuffalo tip they sent me with an order for some other tips. Yes, it's plenty hard, and they do miscue more easily. My favorite all around tip is the Talisman pro medium pigskin tip.

Flex,

When i bought my Espiritu i was warned about the tip from fellow players that i should change the tip lol. Which i did the next day. But i did test the tip out before hand, and even after scuffing up the tip alot, it still wouldnt hold chalk well.

I will say, the WaterBuffalo tips are GREAT for Breaking lol. expecially if your in the IPT lol.

i have an elkmaster on my sneaky, the only qualm i have with it is it mushrooms a bit, so i just burnish it to bring it back to shape. i can do pretty much anything with this tip, curving, draw, follow, full ball jumps from fairly close, and its damn cheap.
