I was wondering the same thing but didn't want to seem disrespectful. I have been in and around Pool Halls since I was head high to a ball return. I've seen the (so called) repair guys work and I have seen some real craftsmanship. Through the years I have done quality jobs as finish carpentry in really nice homes to paint and body work at my Step Father's Body Shop. I am no stranger to a job well done and done right. When I do a customers shaft turn down or replace a ferrule and tip I close my eyes to inspect as I try to feel for the ferrule/tip connection. I very much take pride in my repair work. I understand where some of the veteran Cue makers/Craftsmen are coming from when they see that everyone that buys a lathe thinks they can do this type of work. Well, I do not like embarrassment so there for I am my own worst critic. I have been fortunate enough during my learning process to have met gentlemen such as yourselves that have taken the time to direct someone in the right direction. One in particular that has taken me under his wing and has taught me what I know to this day and that I am great full. This is a passion I have had for quite a few years now and I do believe that I am ready to see just how far I can go. The Cue Repair side has been good to me. Building a reputation as a trusted quality repairman. I appreciate any help and guidance that you all may offer along the way. And well... If or when I become a famous Cue Craftsmen you can say, Yep, I helped mold that fella into the craftsman he is. LoL.. I'm sure that Mr. Balabushka just enjoyed making cues.. Not realizing he was going to be credited as one of the best cue makers ever.
Much Respect to you all,
