Equally as bad as the heat. Glue bonds can break from the shrinking as well as ivory and other parts. If you do freeze your cue its a good idea to bring it in to the inside and let it warm up to room temperature before hitting any balls with it...may well explode breaking or hitting a ball while frozen.
