cue case appears to be good deal

I have been looking for a hard cue case which will provide protection for the cues & capacity for increased inventory over the next 20 years. I found one which claims to hold 3 butts & 5 shafts for $68. This offer appears to be competitive & is offered by Ozone Billiards. Am I correct in my thinking or am I overlooking some potential problem?
 
I'd want to get a recomendation from a satisfied customer before trying them.

A 2x4 leather case on their site has a decent price but no details of what you are getting. For example, what kind of leather and dividers. They don't look like a brick and mortar store.

If you are talking about this AC35 model at Ozone, then it's an Action brand case. See the same thing at BilliardZone.com, bottom of the page.

The Action cases I've handled were made of thin vinyl backed with loosely-woven cloth that seemed unpleasantly stiff, as if it might crack in cold weather. The top and side handles are strips of vinyl sewn into tubes around straps of black nylon webbing. The ends of the nylon straps are sewn to the vinyl at the top. The side handle is sewn to the two black nylon straps that encircle the case. The cap hinge is a nylon strap sewn to vinyl.

The overall effect reminds me of Wal Mart's Spiderman backpack, designed to last maybe a year if the kid is careful. I would expect the nylon straps to pull free from the top before too long, if one uses that handle much. The cap hinge didn't seem very durable, either.

A case "for the next 20 years" is not made for $68. I'd look at Porper, Giuseppe, or Instroke if I was you.
 
Guiseppie (sp) I do believe has a lifetime warrenty on any manufacter defects!

And they are nice too. Instroke makes a good case but damn they are heavy lol. For the price i would go with Guiseppie.

It is 79.20 with FREE shipping. It is the most convenient case I have ever owned. It is actually half-hard half-soft case with seperate side sections for the shafts and butts which have tubes. The butt is spring loaded. The long pocket with seperate section for jump butt handles with its own zipper. I really like the shoulder strap which is wide and padded (distributes the weight better), and the industrial rubber handle. It looks better in person than the pictures. Leather cases are great, but the plain fact of them is when you get 3 x 5 or larger, that many of them get to be too heavy hauling around (loaded up, of course), and many do not provide the padded shoulder strap needed for such weight. The Action case has never seemed heavy to me, or wore on my shoulder. It is a heck of a bargain. I have owned Porper and Its George cases. Action also makes a 2 x 4 in this case, and I recently saw a 4 x 8 in this case, although a different brand. There are other brands like this case, but they don't seem to have quite the quality the Action case has.

A good nice leather case is real nice, but there are players that would rather not spend quite so much, and be able to switch out cases every few years when improvements are made.

Action cases are probably the best Cheap case out there. My wife has one, and I have one to keep spare cues in my closet. I am not using it everyday like I am with my INstroke.

Then I would recommend the Gillesppe for the next cheapest but it is better quality than the Action.

If you want the best type of case, then I am biased towards INstroke, but it will cost you!

I suppose today, you could walk into a tournament and find out they don't allow phenolic tips on break cues. So, 2x3 minimum? Or not have a phenolic tipped cue at all.

Also, I think it is a good idea to have two shafts for a cue. Gotta put that second shaft somewhere unless you want to buy another case just to hold it at home.

Well I carry a 3x7 Instroke, and I have it full. I always carry it with me.

One is my break cue, one is my jump break cue, and then my playing cue with 5 different shafts for my different moods or lets say a tip comes off or something horrible like that. LOL:rolleyes:
 
i picked up a stratford suede finish case from factory 2u2 on ebay i payed about 90.00 shipped, it has excellent protection, and looks cool so that might be an idea

That I give Pooldawg.com an A+ for service. I ordered the cue case on a Thursday at 11:20 am (CST) on the net, and it was delivered the following Monday at about 2 pm.. with normal delivery. They are in Colorado, and I live in Wichita, Kansas.
