I have a question about keeping my shaft clean I had it cleaned it lasted for maybe a few hours then back to not smooth is there anything I can do?

Did you have it cleaned/reconditioned by a competent cue repairman? If you did, it should certainly last more than a few hours!

When you say "not smooth", do you mean rough to the touch? If it's rough, it sounds like the shaft was not reconditioned properly and the grain is raising.

Or do you mean it's just not as slick? Some people use wax and that can sometimes become "tacky" from sweat on your hands. I prefer simply burnishing the shaft rather than adding anything just for this reason.
 
It became "tacky" I just wasn't sure if there is something else maybe I can wype it down with to keep it from doing that
 
Try doing a search for shaft cleaning. But I use denatured alcohol & magic eraser. Then I use 1000 & 2000 grit sand paper, followed up by a piece of leather to burnish the shaft smooth as a babys butt. Hope this helps you out & have a nice day.
