Cue design question

I wouldn't be . I'm sure price is a factor , say a Schick verses an unknown quantity . I love the old Kersenbrach's and SW's , also I like the way some of the Schick's play ... So I copy , in my own way, what I think makes their cues hit so good ... Looks don't shoot the ball in the hole . Can't fully duplicate their stuff unless you have the exact material and machinery , set up to the exact same tolerances ... good luck ... 
I don't think that there's too much to be offended by just receiving pics.
Now if you're suggesting that you want this CM to copy the work, then it depends on the integrity of that CM.
You might also want to consider the thoughts and feelings of the CM whose work you want to copy. While imitation can be a form of flattery, it can also be an insult. Different people can see things differently.
I can accurately duplicate just about any ring-work ever made, as long as it's not done CNC or contain ivory. I do it every day as part of my job.
But that duplicated ring-work will never be seen in one of my cues.
What this means is that I've got piles of ring billets sitting around waiting for a time when I'm once again called upon to make another shaft to M/M (match & mate) a particular cue. Making all these billets can be very time consuming and most times expensive when you consider that you've made a ring-billet for just one ring.
I had a very recent occasion to contact a fellow CM to inquire if he would provide me a deco ring so that I could M/M a Predator shaft to one of his cues. I could have very easily duplicated his ring (minus the ivory) but then I'd have a billet of his ring-work sitting around that could have very unintentionally ended up in a cue that was not of his build. I don't ever want to do that. It's about integrity, it's about respect for another builder's work. I believe this builder understood where I was coming from and graciously provided me with the needed ring. Again, THANK YOU SIR.
To some degree, we all use aspects of a cue that are not of our design.
I didn't invent the 3/8x10 pin but I use it. I'm also fond of the SW butt ring. Some people favor the Hoppe ring. We use these even though we are not the originators.
Another thing to consider is that just because a cue is built to look like a previously built cue, doesn't mean that cue will play like the original.
Have you contacted the builder of the cue you want to duplicate? He might be thrilled to build another one of those cues just for you.
I think I'd at least start there.
I appreciate the replies, ya'll are first class. This will be the third cue I have purchased from this certain cue maker and he knows that I love his cues. it's just that I came across a point design that has really caught my eye and thats what I want him to make for me. No duplicating ring work, just the points in the forearm.
