I would like suggestions on making a cue for a Purple Heart Recipient. He is of the Vietnam era. The wood called "purple heart" is not necessary but could be used. Hope some of you "veterans can help me." I am not a cuemaker but I do play pool. Thank you in advance for your ideas.

Saw Cue once with this inlayed in butt section, you can buy Mini Medals.

It was just the metal part of award.

Here’s a random & esoteric suggestion…

If you can find one, have a conversion cue made from a vintage Brunswick Liberty. They were simple 4 point full splice house cues, no veneers, rebadged True Balances - but only appeared in 1942, issued to support the troops after USA entered WW2.

Hard to find, but if you can find one they have a unique & interesting history. Here’s a thread about them.

Good luck

A budget might be usefull, this would provide members / cue makers with proper responses

The sky is the limit, the budget dictates what's possible. It's a theme that lends itself to design something interesting.

I just made a cue with purple heart points and handle... I thought it looked really nice. It had a macassar ebony forearm with purpleheart points. The points had bright green / black / magenta veneers... black phenolic ringwork with silver slits (kind of like OB style ringwork).. A purpleheart handle and an ebony butt section with black joints. I can post a picture here if you want.. I'm pretty amateur at this cuemaking stuff, but maybe could give ya some ideas...
