This is kind of a stupid question that I don't know the answer to. Can you add inlays to cue that is already finished? For example couple you put ivory into a cue that doesn't already have it or does that have to be done when it's being built? I assume that it has to be done when being built but just wanted to make sure.

inlays can be added anytime; however, the cue will need a refinish.

No such thing as a stupid question.

I have added inlays to a number of cues after they were completed over the years.

The best thing is to ask the cuemaker who made the cue.
