Cue Extensions & Custom Bridges

Was wondering about what others do and prefer when it comes to cue extenders and custom bridges?

I will never use a house bridge again....ever. The condition of these bridges just suck and I will never scratch my cue shafts again using one.

So a couple of years ago I bought a Tony Ryan Oak Cue Extender (12" version) and it works great....feels like a cue because of the oak wood handle
that's the same diameter as a cue butt. It's the best extension attachment for a pool cue I've seen, even the Hagar extensions and others as well..

But the extension doesn't work for every shot and I didn't want to buy the 18" Oak Extension so I bought a Kamui Leather Bridge. There's no way you
can ever mark your cue shafts using a Kamui bridge.....all of the slots are perfectly round, smooth leather. It attaches easily to any house cue. However,
I found that the Kamui Leather Bridge's conventional design limits using the bridge for every difficult, extended reach shots.

So a few months ago, I bought a "JustaBridge"......Wow. This bridge is like an erector set and it's unimaginable to think it would not adapt to every
shot that requires using a bridge......and the felt lining protects the cue shafts.......it's amazing.

What does everyone else use, if anything? House bridge sticks just suck in my opinion....plastic, brass.....it doesn't matter what material it's made
from......if you play with a custom or just your favorite cue....it doesn't have to be an expensive cue, even just a favorite cue.........you owe to yourself to
protect it from needlessly being marred or scratched.

I refinish all my cue shafts using a cue wax I get from a snooker company in England and it leaves the cue shafts with a sleek, silky smooth finish
which allows you to immediately feel even the tiniest of scratches on one of your cue shafts. The cue shafts on my cues are the smoothest you will
ever find anywhere and the shafts remain that way because I keep them pristine and take precautions, i.e., cue extenders and custom bridges.

So what do you use? Have you gotten pissed off when you scratched a shaft from a using a crappy house bridge? Ever happen to you in the middle
of a important match and you had to change shafts.....Ugh. Did you have to finish the match playing with a scratched shaft? Well, it's a lot less likely
to happen again if, and when, you carry the proper pool accessories............Your comments are appreciated.

I have a Schmelke Smart Pro extension on my cue. It had a (I'm assuming brass) insert that is threaded into the butt. A bumper is glued over the insert and the extension snugs up over the bumper when screwed in.

Mooseheads will get a lot of votes.
Justabridges will too.

My pool hall has some that actually lock together when stacking bridges. I can't find them, though.

I carry a plastic 'moose-head' bridge and a Longoni extension. It's pricey, but very light and fits any cue I've tried it on.

I'm using the same bridge as well! I just need 2-3 screwing turns on my Break Cue and it stays right behind the tip without moving at all! Actually a real good product for a very low price. (I paid for mine 11$)

Now concerning these "snooker like" cue extension you pull over the buttcap, I don't like them at all, because I haven't my usual playing feeling anymore. Mainly because you got the balance point nearly at the end of your cue and that used gummy and or plastic materials don't feel nice in my hand and they're also much too heavy!
I saw 2 months ago these "new" FURY cue extensions!
IMO, it's really a fair price, considering that you got the same diameter as your cue, they're looking great and like that you can choose an extension that will +/- fit to the butt cape size, to the woods and colours of your own cue! Still being light in their weight!
You can have them made of Bird's Eye Maple, Tiger Striped Maple, Bocote, Rengas or Rosewood

But who already is using one on his cue and can give us some feedback? Mainly how strong fits the extension to the cue?!

The description and pictures here below are from www.budgetcues.com

John, have you stopped using the Cue Reach tube, then?

What cue are you attaching the Fury extension to, and did it require mods? Are you leaving it on your cue full-time?

He's using a Fury Cue with a Fury Extension.

I picked up a JustaBridge last month, and it's a quick & secure fit onto my break cue. I hated the dents that house bridges (plastic and metal) were putting in my playing shaft.

The JustaBridge is better suited to fatter ferules, so it may not work for everyone.

I'm still on the fence regarding Furry. Here's some information I found, for those who are interested.

Thank you John,
That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Just 1 Question:
Did the diameter of that special FURY bumper fitted right like he was, or do you had to cut some gum away, that it fits?
