Cue extensions

Wow. I have a couple of Pechauer pros and decided to look into getting an extension to help with some shots on the 9fter. Plus at 6'4, a longer cue seems like it would fit my wingspan better. But Holy Cow, I was shocked to see the $135 sticker price for 8 inches of carbon fiber...is this normal for most companies? :eek:

Are there other options that work well for less money? Are the extensions worth the cash? Should I just stop whining and suck it up and buy one, or just get better with the bridge?

Just seems crazy that they cost so much....

Not the most expensive extension. Not the cheapest. There are other options you can consider.

1. A mid-cue extension. Newsheriffintwn on AZB can do it at a reasonable price.
2. A custom butt extension. blokid on AZB can do also do it at a reasonable price.

Weight is the most important variable for me, so I tend to go custom with a specific weight range in mind.

I use a 4" mid extension full time. At 5'11' I rarely need the bridge. It was made by Blokid. I saw he makes butt extensions as well. I have no idea the price but my mid extension was around the same price point as the balance rites for a far superior product.
 
I had a very hard time finding a mid cue ext that I was satisfied with.

As a matter of fact, I pm'ed a few people on azb about getting an ext made and got only one pm in return. That pm was from Blokid.

Blokid pm'ed me and said he happened to have a mid cue extension in stock that would fit my cue.

His work is top quality at a very good price for what you get.

Delivery time is a little longer due to where it is coming from but it is worth the wait.

I can't wait till my back pain is taken care of so I play with it.

I have the Pechauer extension and even with the cost I'm extremely happy with it. IMO it's the perfect size. So many extensions were too long or short for me. It's quick on and off if you don't want to play with it on all the time, but fits snugly if you do. It's very durable and light weight so it doesn't add bulk to you're case and a minimum amount when it's on the cue.

I don't remember the specifics, but I do not remember it taking very long to arrive at all, especially coming from overseas. I remember being surprised by how fast it arrived, based upon what I was expecting. YMMV when dealing with customs.
 
I can't speak to the carbon fiber ones - but after trying several commercial items I have to throw my vote to NewSheriffInTown as well. Mine was a conversion unit made from ebony - and was less than half of the price you're quoting. I'd at least give him a shout and get an idea on what he'd charge. I am VERY happy with mine. (even if I don't get to use it all too often).
