Cue for 14.1

Hello AZ Folks,

Out of curiosity, but due to the increase in Low-Deflection Shafts, how do you all feel about them in 14.1? I have never played with one before. I am looking forward to getting another cue and I am skeptical about getting a low-deflection cue. If I pull off a slow-speed spin shot using back-hand English, I would know what to make of it. What cues would you recommend would be great for 14.1?

LD-shafts and backhand english are a bit tough to combine. If you're using BHE succesfully, stick with non-LD shafts, IMHO. They hit better too :)

If you're seriously curious about LD shafts, try a couple before buying anything. They most definitely feel different than plain maple shafts. And the difference isn't always good.

Well, that is the thing, mjantti, I think of parellel english as well as BHE as tools. I have been much more accustomed to using these rather than to let a low-deflection cue/shaft do the work for me. I could be wrong: I might even like the LD cue/shaft. Still, I am a purist when it comes to cues and I already have a Viking (at least it was a start) that deflects a bit (which, in some cases, can be used as a way to kick out of safes).
