Cue for around 200?

I have a bud who is looking for a cue.His top end is 200 bucks.I told him I'd check around online and see what I might find.I thought of the dominiak cues I see mentioned here quite a bit,but I quick look at their web site didn't turn up those cues I remember seeing for 150-200 bucks.

Any suggestions?
 
post a Want to Buy thread on the for sale section. Lots of people have cues they will part with for that amount or close to it, they just don't talk about them.
 
I saw someone selling a nice Adams cue, in the for sale section, he's asking $200, you might wanna check it out.

It's a beauty too, for that price I'd snap it up if my circumstances allowed.

Thanks, I think it's a really good price. McDermotts don't move on here too well, but for $150 you can have a good player, not have the worries of a higher-end cue (bumps and bruises, theft, etc.), and McDermott stands behind their cues. :grin:

The Dominiak model you are looking for is the 1020 ($169) add the rings for $20 they are nice, model WD1020 on his website. Nice playing cues, I use the 1020 as my daily player.
 
Dooziex is selling bcm sneaky for vey cheap.i think 240. you can also choose keith josey sneaky.u will always get something out of these cues when u sell later on.IMO

I second the Dominiak 1020. I bought one for my dad and it plays very nice, lots of action (normal maple shaft with kamui medium tip) and solid. Great value and nice wood (curly maple). Mine was a little bit delayed but it is definitely a nice cue for the price (and even if it was slightly more expensive). I suggest asking them to see if they have any in stock.

Thanks for that reply,I was considering starting a different thread to collect reviews considering the Dominiak....but I suspect i already know its a great cue..esp for the money.

Yes , most dominiak owners will tell you they love the cue, but its really a matter of opinion when it comes down to it. You should have a couple things in mind to ask your friend. Does he like a stiff hit? The dominiak has a very stiff hit. I find it great for 14.1 and 8ball, but not really great for 9ball. If he doesn't like the stiff hitting cues then look more toward a meucci or lucasi. Secondly, the dominiak is a wood to wood joint, does he like that feel in a cue? More like the feel of a house cue, if not then go with a steel joint.
 
I have a plain Jane new Brunswick Cue that hits like a dream. About 130.00.
It's 21 ounces and I use it to break. ( I might sell it in a few weeks after i get my new Patrick Custom Sneaky.)
