Cue has developed a rattle

Hello,

A custom cue (wrapless, no points, 3/8x10 pin) in excellent condition was sold to a buyer in Europe. The new owner says it now has a "rattle" when playing with it. Any idea what might be causing this? I have an email in to the cuemaker but would appreciate other opinions. While I know it's difficult to say without seeing, does it sound like an easy fix (and, if so, an approx. cost?)?

Weight bolt?
 
Tx for the quick reply. I think it does have one but not sure--so you're thinking it might be as simple as the weight bolt came unscrewed in overseas shipping?
 
Not necessarily easy and not necessarily inexpensive. If it is a tip (which usually presents itself as a click rather that a rattle), cracked or loose ferrule, a loose weight bolt or something loose around the joint (ring work, joint collar, pin or insert) that may not be a major problem. If it is a rattle in the "A" joint, that could be a bit more of a problem.

Talk to the cue maker and they can help you with diagnosis and solution of the problem.
 
The cue was very well packaged for shipping and arrived with no apparent damage to the shipping box, so I'm hopeful it's not an "A" joint issue. Tx for the response.
