I have a buddy who has this cue and we're trying to figure out what brand it is. The pictures aren't the greatest, but hopefully someone will be able to identify the maker. The forearm is a nicely figured piece of birdseye with a cocobolo ring above the "A" joint. Irish linen wrap. Nice matching cocobolo rings and ringwork in the buttsleve. There aren't any markings anywhere on the cue, and the finish looks to be original. The pin is a 5/16-14 with a brass insert in the shaft. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I could be wrong but it has some of the indications of an early McD.
I'm surprised you didn't find a shamrock on the butt cap.
Could be a re-vamp.
Does it have a cotton-fiber ferrule that's separating from the shaft?

KJ, I didn't look at the ferrule too closely, so I couldn't tell you. At first glance, it looked like a McD to me, but the ring above the "A" joint and the 5/16-14 pin with the shaft insert seemed puzzling. Did McD ever use this type of pin on the older cues? I know the "D" series of the late 80's was all 3/8-10, but I don't have much experience with earlier lines.

Resembles a Mcdermott B9, but the woods and joint rings do not match the description in the blue book
