I just saw an old Kersenback titlist conversion. The joint screw looked like it was hand turned on a lathe (3/8-11, somewhat crude by todays standards). The thing that was very noticable about it was the large conical hole on the screw for the lathe center. It was similar to the one on your cue.
Could this be as early Kersenback cue, pre 3/8-11 joint screws?
