Howdy AZB,

Is anybody able to assist with information relating to this Pechauer?

http://imgur.com/a/zLFRH#0

It is very short and light, with a balance point very close to the joint.
It has a uni-loc joint (possibly that the butt and shaft were cut down to include these joints? OR else it's just a really short cue?)

Looks like someone might have hand sanded the ferrule down to 10mm, or has just done a bad retip job.

This is a very nice cue, but it's just too light and small. Is it safe to get the bolt out? And where can I get a heavier bolt to suit?

Thank you everyone!

It looks to me like it was ordered short. Some players like a shorter cue to play with.

Would it be worth anything?

And would I be able to change the weight without damaging the cue?

1. Looks like you could change the weightbolt easily with a large flat-blade screwdriver. Just remove the bolt to see how big it is. Looks like the bolt might have a bit of glue on it to keep it from coming loose, so be prepared for a struggle. You could damage the cue if you use anything hard to grip it to turn the bolt out...I usually wrapped a cue with a towel and held it with by wood bench vise. If the glue has to be heated to break loose, it is a very touchy situation. Overheating the bolt can burn the wood/butt cap, if not cautious. Find a cuesmith, if the screw does not break loose fairly easily.

2. The cue could have been ordered short for many reasons. My best guess would be that it was for a child/youth player. It would make sense, both for the length of the cue, and for the small ferrule diameter.

3. Is it worth anything? Sure...just not all that much, and a VERY limited market for it. If someone needs a nice child/youth cue, this would be great for them.

Thanks for the answers Joe.

I think it was owned by a snooker player previously, got some uni-loc ash shafts in the deal.

Seems like a good cue to play straight rail with, just need another shaft, and to get a new bolt in the back of it. If I can't do it myself, might just leave it for when my daughter is old enough.
